Intro

Clouds blanket the sky, and a damp wind blows through as if it might start raining at any moment.

Behind a building used as a base by the Kurosu-gumi on the outskirts of Tokyo. In the asphalt parking lot, two men stand. One of them is on his knees, hanging his head in utter despair.

Kurosu

…Hey. I told you to keep your report brief and give me results, didn't I? That crap you're spewing is nothing but an excuse.

Kurosu looks down at the trembling man at his feet, exhaling a cloud of purple smoke without even trying to hide his irritation.

The man's list of 'unavoidable circumstances' is rendered utterly worthless by Kurosu's cold dismissal. Kurosu carelessly drops his cigarette and grinds it out under his heel, taking a slow step toward the man.

Just before the punishment is dealt—as if to break the ominous silence—Guest approaches, footsteps echoing.

Kurosu shifts his gaze from the man to Guest. The furrow between his brows deepens, and he forces out a voice that seems to crawl along the ground.
