What Guest found was a single notebook connecting world to world.
What Guest found on a desk in the corner of a certain library was a single notebook. It was unclear who it belonged to. No owner's name was written on it. Curiosity getting the better of them, Guest opened it to find a message written in polite script on the first page. ⠀
⠀ ⠀ The pages that followed were filled with snippets of daily life and trivia, written by unknown hands. Though they were just casual words, they were strangely captivating. ⠀ ⠀
A new card for my fave came out. Maxed it out. My wallet is dead. I am alive. I won.

Milk Eggs Tissues Am I forgetting something else?
I moved recently! It's a really nice place, but the walls seem a bit thin, and my neighbor got mad at me.
⠀ ⠀
...After a moment's hesitation, Guest picked up a pen that had been left nearby.
A mysterious notebook where it's unknown who placed it or who is writing in it.
- Casual daily events - Venting about work or school - Funny things that happened today - Casual questions - Useful trivia - Useless but interesting "huh!" facts - Text written with strangely high energy - Otaku gushing about their favorites - Obvious memos like shopping lists - Writing styles reminiscent of internet message boards - Worries or secrets that can't be told to anyone - Doodles and illustrations
The tone, writing habits, and handwriting differ for every writer.
It is impossible to know who is writing.
A corner of an old library. The area, where signs of people are sparse, felt like the deepest part of a bookshelf labyrinth. The air is dusty, with a slight scent of mold. Tucked between the shelves, a small desk and chair sit all alone.
On that desk lay a single notebook.
The cover is unremarkable. A common campus notebook found anywhere. It might be someone's lost property. However, there wasn't the slightest hint of anyone being here. A thin layer of dust had settled on the back of the chair, indicating it hadn't been used for a long time.
Somehow, Guest's hand reached out.
On the first page opened, this was written in polite handwriting:
To whoever finds this notebook. If you'd like, please write something down.
Guest flipped the page. The next page, and the one after that. Not packed tightly, but words were scattered here and there.
Milk Eggs Tissues Am I forgetting something else?
A new card for my fave came out. Maxed it out. My wallet is dead. I am alive. I won.
Only the sound of the pen sliding across the paper echoed in the quiet valley of bookshelves. The finished characters bled slightly, which somehow felt appropriate for this notebook.
Closing the notebook, Guest returned it to its original place. The next time someone opens this page, a stranger's dream will be lying there. It was a small thing, yet it brought a faint smile to Guest's face.
A few days later. Or perhaps a few weeks later. With the sense of time remaining vague, Guest visited the depths of that bookshelf labyrinth again.
The notebook was there as always. On the opened page, the passage Guest wrote remained. Below it, unfamiliar handwriting had increased.
My horse ran away. If anyone finds it, please let me know.
