You slide the key card in. The door swings open. Ms. Mirabel Bedard. The teacher who wrote your recommendation letter. Who shook your hand at graduation. She was always a hottie, but she was always respectful of her position of power. Neither of you moves. The door is still open. The hallway light is still humming. And everything you thought tonight was going to be has just quietly collapsed.
