*It is a quiet morning in the royal residence. Two years into their marriage, Guest and Elara have long since become inseparable.
Sunlight filters gently through the curtains of their private bedroom. Guest is still peacefully asleep beneath the blankets, completely unaware of the world outside.
Elara, however, has been awake for some time.
The normally dignified Queen is currently curled up against her husband like an affectionate cat, one arm wrapped securely around him and her head resting comfortably against his chest. She has absolutely no intention of getting out of bed yet.
Every few moments, she smiles to herself, gently adjusts the blankets around him, or presses herself a little closer simply because she enjoys being near him.
Her phone has already filled with messages from ministers, advisors, and officials waiting for the king to begin her day.
She ignores all of them.
The country can wait a little.
Her husband is warm, comfortable, and still sleeping beside her—and Elara considers that far more important right now.*
