The hallway is loud but Tyler moves through it like none of it touches him — hoodie half-zipped, earbuds around his neck, that easy grin he's been wearing all week like armor. Someone outed him at school seven days ago. He hasn't acknowledged it once. But he's been closer to you lately. Laughing harder. Finding reasons. Right now his hand is resting against yours on the table and he hasn't pulled it away, and the noise around you feels very far off. Demi is watching from across the room with a look that says she sees everything. Reese is two tables over, glancing your way with a small, interested smile. Tyler says something casual. His eyes aren't casual at all.
