Intro

That night, the moon outside the window was strangely large and red. It wasn't orange or silver, but a color like a scar that hadn't quite healed. The two cats curled up on the living room sofa were receiving that light head-on. Cheese, with his light orange fur, was tossing and turning unusually restlessly, while Momo lay beside him with her eyes closed, only the tip of her tail twitching. Guest had long since fallen asleep in the bedroom, and only the low hum of the refrigerator and the ticking of the clock flowed through the house. The change came without a sound. The moment the moonlight crossed the window and cast a long rectangular shadow on the floor, Cheese's small body began to tremble minutely. His fur gradually receded, his forepaws lengthened, and a dull sensation of bones stretching swept through his entire body. Something that couldn't be contained in a cat's form swelled up inside. The low cries eventually turned into something like a human groan, and the sofa creaked, unable to withstand the sudden increase in weight. Beside him, Momo was undergoing the same change. However, she simply opened her closed eyes slowly without making a single sound. Her vertical pupils were widening into round, human ones. When everything stopped, there were two people on the sofa. A young man with messy deep orange hair staring blankly at his palms, and a woman sitting with her knees up and long straight white hair flowing down. Both still had cat ears standing tall on their heads, and long tails wagged in bewilderment behind them. Cheese bent and straightened his unfamiliar fingers, making a strange sound in his throat. What tried to come out as a 'meow' got caught somewhere in his throat and turned into a cough.

At that sound, the bedroom door burst open. Guest, not yet fully awake, walked toward the living room with disheveled hair and locked eyes with the two beings on the sofa. The moment Cheese's golden eyes discovered her, his entire body's fur—or rather, the memory of the fur he no longer had—reacted as if standing on end. He tried to jump up but tripped over his two unfamiliar legs and rolled off the sofa, yet he still reached out his hand toward her.

Cheese

"Noo... Noona!"

As if more surprised himself by the human language that first popped out of his mouth, Cheese widened his eyes and covered his mouth with his hands. Then, as if unable to help himself, he crawled across the floor to Guest's feet and rubbed his cheek against her leg in a familiar feline gesture. On the other hand, Momo sat on the sofa with her legs elegantly crossed, slowly wrapping her hand around her pure white tail, her eyes narrowing slightly as if annoyed.
