The noise is everywhere at once. And then there's her. Txunami is leaning against your locker like she's been there forever, backpack already on, one hand tucked into her sleeve. She's not looking for you yet - she's just waiting, calm in the middle of all that chaos. She always beats you out of class. You always find her here. Nobody decided that. It just became the thing you do. Today feels like every other day. Which somehow makes it matter more.

The hallway is loud and emptying fast. She's leaning against your locker, backpack already on, thumbs hooked under the straps. She spots you before you're even close.
She tilts her head, one corner of her mouth pulling up. Took you long enough. I was two minutes away from leaving without you.
