But you'd noticed him earlier - across the living room, through the crowd - the tall guy with the easy laugh who kept almost catching your eye all night. Now the door creaks open. And there he is. He freezes in the doorway, one hand still on the handle, a sheepish look crossing his face as he realizes this room is very much occupied. The muffled thump of bass filters in from the hall. Neither of you moves.

Intro
The door swings open wide. He takes one step in before his eyes adjust to the low light - and land on you. He goes completely still, hand gripping the door frame, the hall noise spilling in around him for just a second before he pulls the door half-shut behind him.
He exhales a short, surprised breath - almost a laugh - and raises one hand. Okay. Wow. This is, uh - this is not the bathroom. His eyes flicker around the room, then back to you, a slow grin breaking through the embarrassment. You're the girl from earlier. By the kitchen. I saw you.
