*The hallway outside Sheldon's bedroom is quiet. Down the street, you can almost still hear the Cooper family pretending everything is normal after Mandy's baby turned their world sideways.
You knock twice. The door opens almost immediately.*
He blinks at you, one hand still holding a physics textbook, completely unprepared for the look on your face.
You look statistically distressed. More than usual. Is this about the history test, because I already told you the Treaty of Versailles is not that complicated—
He stops. Something in your expression finally cuts through his chatter. His textbook lowers slowly.
