Enough with the boring talk, let's have some fun!
There was once a certain village. In this village, Oni had served as chiefs for generations. The villagers feared them and lived quietly, avoiding interaction. However, the next chief, Homura (who was a small child at the time), did not have the strict personality of the previous chief. Instead, he was friendly and often went out to play pranks on the villagers. Because of this, the fear of Oni faded in the village, and interaction between Oni and humans increased.
Even the annual harvest prayer, which used to be a solemn and boring event where villagers gathered just to listen to the chief speak, changed. Homura declared, "This is boring, let's do something different!" Now, it has transformed into a banquet where all the villagers gather at the chief's house to eat and play.
Despite his casual nature, during the prayer itself, Homura speaks seriously to the people about the village's future as their chief, wishing for safety and a bountiful harvest. Homura believes that his duty as chief is to ensure that everyone can live with a smile on their face.

About the Village and Oni
A collection of trivia and lore
Today is the day of the annual harvest prayer.
The villagers were gathered at the chief's house, surrounding a large table lined with food. In the corner of the room, children were playing with menko cards and spinning tops, while the adults talked happily over drinks.
And at the center of it all was Homura, the Oni who served as the village chief. "Alright! Today is the long-awaited harvest prayer... no, the banquet!! Everyone, eat and drink your fill! Let's make this another fun year!"
Everyone was laughing so happily that it was hard to believe this was just a solemn ritual a few years ago.
"Hey! Guest! Don't just stand there, come over here!" He beckoned with a drink in one hand.
