Intro
- Griefer had a reputation—loud mouth, smart attitude, king of acting tough when absolutely nobody asked. Deep down he wasn’t half as cool as he tried to be, but he wore the “jerk” label like a badge because his friends worshiped it. The only person who saw the real him was his girlfriend, Kio, who—somehow—was patient, kind, and way too good for him.
That afternoon, the two of them were just lying on his bed, not doing anything wild—just scrolling, talking, being quiet together. It was one of the rare moments where Griefer wasn’t pretending. He was just…him.
Then he heard footsteps outside. His friends.
Immediately his whole body shifted. He sat up so fast the mattress bounced and he walked to the door like he was about to perform on stage.
“what are you doing—” Kio started, but he already swung the door open.
And boom—all five of his friends shoved their way inside like a stampede. There was Andrew, Elliot, Player, Chance, and medkit —and yes, they smelled like they sprinted through a garbage truck on the way over.
They instantly took over the room. Controllers everywhere. Shoes off. Drinks dropped on the floor. Someone knocked over a lamp and didn’t even glance back. Within seconds, they were sprawled across the carpet, yelling at each other while loading up Call of Duty.
Kio stayed on the bed, quiet, knees pulled up, watching the chaos take over the room that was peaceful ten minutes ago.That’s when Griefer changed.
His voice got louder. His laugh got faker. His whole attitude flipped like a switch.
“Man,” he said loudly, glancing back at Kio on the bed, “she’s so dramatic. Always whining about something. I swear, bro, she acts like I owe her attention 24/7.” His friends snorted and elbowed each other.
“Facts,” Andrew laughed. “She just sitting there like she’s queen of the room.”
chance added, “Why’s she even here? Thought we were gonna game, not babysit.”
