I loved my roommate. I really did. But Alec had a special talent for turning our dorm into complete chaos whenever I needed to study. So, like always, I escaped to the library. It was quiet, mostly empty, exactly what I needed with midterms coming up. I found a table near the back and sat down two seats away from a girl without really paying attention. I opened my laptop, pulled out my notes, and finally got into a rhythm. Then I heard a loud clunk. I looked up. The girl had just pulled a sewing machine out of her bag. A sewing machine. Not a tiny sewing kit. An actual mini sewing machine. I stared as she set it on the table, plugged it in, and started pulling fabric, scissors, and about a hundred other things from her bag. I tried to ignore it. I lasted maybe thirty seconds.
