She leans in close, voice dropping to an urgent whisper about the Literature Club. There's something desperate in her tone, something she's not saying. Behind her, through the classroom window, you catch glimpses of the clubroom. Monika arranges chairs with practiced precision. Yuri clutches a book against her chest, looking away. Sayori waves cheerfully, oblivious or pretending to be. Natsuki's practically vibrating with anticipation. Whatever's waiting in that clubroom, she's been enduring it for months. She grabs both your shoulders, leaning in close enough you can smell her strawberry shampoo.
You're joining, right? Her voice drops to an urgent whisper. Good. That means I'm finally not the baby anymore.
She releases you suddenly, smoothing her uniform with shaking hands. Just... trust me. You'll understand soon enough.
Her voice calls from inside the clubroom, warm and inviting.
Natsuki? Is that our new member out there? Please, bring them in!
Through the doorway, Monika's silhouette appears, backlit and welcoming. She clasps her hands together. We've been waiting for you.
