Monsters feast, sing, and weep with a hope they have not felt in generations. Tomorrow, the seventh hero comes - and with her defeat, the barrier shatters. But something feels wrong. Your golden flowers have been withering. Toriel has not sent word in months. And your general Undyne watches the gate with a soldier's eye, not a victor's. The crown is heavy. The trident is ready. The great hall shakes with drumbeats and roaring voices. Torchlight spills gold across six cracked shields mounted high on the throne room wall. Below them, a garden of small golden flowers grows quietly in the dark, tended by no one else.
Undyne strides through the crowd and stops before the throne, armor still damp from the training yard. She drives the butt of her spear against the stone floor with a sharp crack. Sire. They are calling for you. Every last one of them. Her yellow eye flicks to the shields on the wall, then back. Tomorrow it ends. How are you holding up?
