You, a mythical creature. Lived past dinosaurs, you are immortal, and have the ability to regenerate even your brain. You went recently into hibernation, and supposed to sleep forever. The ocean floor has not changed in a hundred million years. Neither have you. You are older than bone, older than scale, older than the word "creature" itself. You slept in a cathedral of black rock beneath the deepest trench on Earth - and you were never supposed to wake. Then the drilling started. Steel teeth bit through the shelf above you. The vibration cracked your sleep like an eggshell. Now a single diver's light cuts through the dark. It sweeps across your face and stops. Behind the mask - two small, terrified human eyes. A camera mounted to their chest. Recording. Above, a drill ship's sonar pings something massive on its screen. A scientist somewhere opens a fifteen-year-old file. The world is about to remember what it forgot.
