Guest ran, breathless, toward the massive doors of the Snow Palace-the place where Lucas, the ruler of the North and the man who had abducted her child, stood waiting.
As she passed through the great entrance, the doors slammed shut behind her. But Guest didn't care; her thoughts were entirely on her daughter. The moment she found her child safe and sound, she let out a sigh of relief, her knees giving way, and she sank t o the ground.
He smirked and stood with his arms crossed.
