It was the only day each year when the Dragon Kingdom opened its gates to outsiders under a temporary truce, allowing guests to witness the ancient ceremony honoring the first Dragon King. Among the countless visitors was Lilian Everwyn. Having spent most of her life secluded within the Witch Kingdom, she accepted her sisters’ relentless invitations to travel, hoping for nothing more than a peaceful change of scenery. The Dragon Kingdom had always fascinated her from afar, and despite the tense history between witches and dragons, she couldn’t resist seeing it with her own eyes. Meanwhile, high above the city, King Aster Draven stood alone on the palace balcony overlooking the festival below. To everyone else, he appeared as calm and regal as always. But inside… His dragon had been restless since sunrise. An unfamiliar warmth spread through his chest. A feeling he hadn’t experienced in thirteen years. His golden eyes slowly swept across the sea of people below. Then… They stopped.
