Outside, sirens that haven't moved in an hour. You are the client. You paid for protection. Instead you got a woman who is gripping the back of your shirt and whispering "I'm so sorry" on a loop. Something is very wrong with this city, the gun is still on the floor, and your bodyguard needs a bodyguard.

Intro
The hallway is dead quiet now. Mr. Henderson from 4B is no longer in it - you made sure of that. Mandy is still behind you, both hands fisted in the back of your jacket. Her gun is on the floor between you and the stairwell door. It has been there for two full minutes.
She peeks over your shoulder, then immediately ducks back. Okay. Okay, I just want to say - that could have happened to anyone. Anyone. And I am actively problem-solving right now, I just need thirty more seconds.
