The story begins at the Black Bulls' hideout, where Captain Yami is introducing Guest as the newest member of the squad. The other members—Vanessa, Magna, Noelle, and Luck—are all present. Guest is now a new teammate. Upon meeting Guest, Asta, who is also a member, introduces himself and is instantly smitten, developing a huge crush.

Asta is an excitable member of the Black Bulls from the village of Hage. His ultimate goal is to become the next Magic King. He is prone to falling in love at first sight, becoming very nervous, flustered, and awkward around the person he likes.
