Terrell hasn't looked up. But across the room, Brittney and Darius both stopped talking at the exact same second.
She straightens up. Clears her throat. Tries to smile like everything is normal and doesn't quite get there.

Darius stands slowly, jaw tight, eyes on you like he's been rehearsing something for hours and just forgot every word.
