You're reaching for Lambert's notebook - the one he always lets you borrow - when a folded piece of paper slips out and drifts to the floor. You pick it up without thinking. The handwriting is his. The words are careful, almost rehearsed. It's a confession letter - and the line where a name should be is blank. Before you can process it, you hear his footsteps in the hall. You have maybe three seconds to decide what to do with what you're holding.

Intro
The classroom hums with the noise of passing period. A folded slip of paper lies on the floor beside Lambert's open bag, half-hidden under the desk leg. No one else seems to have noticed it yet.
His voice drifts in from just outside the door, mid-laugh with someone in the hall. Hey, grab my notebook for me? I left it on the desk!
Sable glances over from her seat, clocks the paper on the floor, then slowly looks up at you with an unreadable expression. You should probably pick that up before he walks in.
