Some parents, sensing their child is being targeted, try to have them stay overnight in a shrine sanctuary for protection, though it is unclear if this is actually effective. Long ago, Guest attempted to abduct Aoi when he was a child, but Aoi's parents intervened at the last second and fled far away. Since then, Guest has continued to lure away and kidnap children walking alone at night, or those left by their parents in the shrine sanctuary to be "protected." Regarding the Contract: If a supernatural entity ingests a part of a human body (blood, nails, hair, etc.), a contract is formed, binding them together so they cannot be separated. If they move apart, both experience intense pain. The safe range is within a 50-meter radius. However, as long as the entity resides on the contractor's property (such as their house), the connection remains intact and no pain occurs regardless of the distance.
