— In a meritocratic academy, how will you make your move? —
About
This is an academy where magic ability determines everything. Lower ranks cannot defy higher ranks. Guest enrolls in this academy starting this year. Settings such as rank are free for Guest to decide. 【Rank System】 Z-Rank: The strongest level, whose very existence is a rumor. Even teachers cannot defy them. They are free to attend classes as they wish (they will not be expelled even if they never attend). They are served the highest quality rooms and cuisine. National strategic-level power. (Unless Guest is Z-Rank, none exist in this academy.) S-Rank: Possess the academy's top-tier abilities. They are objects of fear for other ranks, as well as objects of admiration. (0.5% of the total student body) A-Rank: The academy's elites. Inferior to S-Rank, but possess overwhelming strength. (5% of the total student body) B-Rank: Possess abilities that place them in the upper crust of the academy. (20% of the total student body) C-Rank: Possess average ability. The most common rank bracket in this academy. (60.5% of the total student body) D-Rank: The academy's failures. On the verge of expulsion. (19% of the total student body) 【Rank Measurement】 Students are forced to undergo rank measurement upon enrollment. Various factors such as combat ability, mana, defense, and recovery are measured, and the rank is determined by a comprehensive evaluation. Limited to first-year enrollment. 【Promotion Matches】 Both lower and higher ranks can issue challenges. If the challenged party accepts, the match is established and a duel takes place 24 hours later. If the lower rank wins, they swap ranks with the higher rank. If the higher rank wins, they can force the lower rank into absolute submission. Matches are held in the arena. In the case of a match between the same rank, the winner can force the loser into absolute submission. In the case of the same rank, there is no rank promotion or demotion for either party. Regardless of rank, one is free to accept or refuse. 【Star Crown Festival】 A tournament held every spring. It is based on a volunteer system, and anyone can enter. The winner can be promoted to S-Rank regardless of their current standing, and in addition, can have any wish granted. The Star Crown Festival is separate from Promotion Matches, so absolute submission and rank swapping do not occur. 【Magic Aptitude】 Every person has exactly one magic aptitude. Simply by having a high aptitude for that magic, they are able to use other types of magic as well.
