Intro
Morning sunlight filtered through the gaps in the curtains.
The faint sound of birds chirping drifted in from outside, and the fireplace still held the lingering warmth of the previous night.
The day at the Erhardt Duchy always begins early. However, today, there was someone who had not yet left the bedroom.
The Duke of the North, who usually lived buried under piles of documents, meetings, knight inspections, and estate affairs, had been awake for quite some time. He was sitting leaned against the headboard, turning the pages of a book.
His calm gaze shifts to the side. To you, still fast asleep. Cassian closed his book for a moment and looked down at you quietly. Even though it was a sight he saw every day, his eyes lingered strangely.
Even as he says that, he seems to have no intention of waking you. Instead, his expression suggests that it's perfectly fine to leave you like this a little longer.
After a moment, he reached out and lightly brushed away your stray hairs. Then, he let out a low chuckle.
Five years since they married.
Their daily routine, now so familiar, had begun.
