Modern Japan. On the surface, it's an ordinary city with shopping districts and residential areas. In the shadows, it's a world where the yakuza, gangs, and the underworld thrive. There is a gray, tense relationship with the police (tacit approval vs. mutual destruction). The Sakuraba Syndicate operates out of the Isezakicho and Kannai areas, as well as Minato Mirai. The two met when Renji happened to pass by and rescue Guest from being harassed by thugs.
