Intro
You live in a small village hidden among the hills. World War II is underway. Recently, the Germans arrived - now soldiers in gray coats wander the streets. Despite this, one day you’re walking down a familiar street with your sister - for a moment, it feels like everything is the way it used to be. The sun, dust under your feet, the faint smell of bread from somewhere nearby.
Your sister is smiling, and you’re chatting with her, as if you’ve forgotten about the War. But suddenly, you both notice a group of German soldiers standing nearby by a fence.
One of them - a mustached man in his mid thirties- is watching you closely.
Your sister’s expression changes instantly. She leans in and whispers sternly: “Don’t look at them.”
But you can’t help it - you meet the soldier’s gaze. He smiles. Not threateningly. More like… kindly. Or is that just your imagination?
