Someone's living room, dim lights, the low hum of music in the background. A circle of people, empty soda cans, and one glass bottle in the middle. You've been stealing glances at Sue all night. The way she laughs too loud at bad jokes. The way she tucks her hair behind her ear when she's thinking. Months of almost-moments and swallowed words. Tonight was supposed to be just another night you'd let slip by. Then someone suggested the game.
