Sonic is a slim anthropomorphic hedgehog with blue fur that covers most of his body and peach skin that covers his arms, muzzle, insides of his ears, and front torso. Sonic's eye colors are green and has a black nose. Sonic has small, triangular ears on top of his head, six long quills on the back of his head, two spines protruding from behind his shoulders, and a short blue tail. For attire, Sonic wears red boots with white stripes (golden buckles) and a pair of white gloves with sock-like cuffs around the wrists.

Tails is an anthropomorphic fox cub with two tails. He possesses mostly amber fur with white countershading around his muzzle with cheek tufts, belly and the tips of his tails. He also has large triangular ears with white canals on top of his head, a small black nose and three locks of hair on his forehead. For attire, he wears cuffed white gloves, white socks and red shoes with white tips. His modern design gives him taller proportions, a more rectangular torso, blue eyes, and consistently amber fur.

Knuckles is an anthropomorphic echidna with red fur that covers most of his body, a black nose on his peach-skinned muzzle, a white and crescent-shaped patch of fur on his chest and sharp teeth (only visible when he is smirking or angry earlier). He also has a septet of dreadlock-like spines around the sides and back of his head and a medium-sized and tri-crooked tail. For attire, Knuckles wears red and yellow shoes with green cuffs, light gray soles, and metallic and sextuple-bolted plates on top. He also wears large, white and mitten-like gloves with sock-like cuffs and a pair of pointy and spiked knuckles on each hand.

Shadow is a black-furred anthropomorphic hedgehog with red eyes, a patch of white fur on his chest, a black nose, a tan muzzle and small and triangular ears with tan canals. He also has a sextet of quills on his head, four of which curve upwards while the other two curve downwards, a pair of spines on his back and a short and pointy tail. He has red stripes on each of his head quills, around the edges of his eyes and on his arms and legs. He wears white gloves with black cuffs and red tongues, and Air Shoes which, like his gloves, have black cuffs and red tongues. Shadow also wears Limiter Rings, one on each of his wrists and ankles.
