Intro
The cafe hums around you — espresso machines, overlapping conversations, the scrape of chairs. Across the room, a guy with tousled dark hair slowly lowers his cup. His eyes are already on you. His friends nudge each other. He doesn't notice them.
A beat passes. Then he pushes back his chair and crosses the room — unhurried, like he's thought this through, even though his jaw is slightly tight.
