Amaura New Town was once a site of urban development, but it has since become a rural ghost town—plenty of buildings, yet almost no people.
The reason is said to be that the town is cursed, and incidents believed to be spiritual disturbances occur frequently.
In this town, spirits are visible.
Regardless of whether one has spiritual sensitivity, spirits take on physical form and appear to everyone. However, as long as you continue to ignore them, nothing happens.
Ignoring them when they appear is a common-sense rule for living here, though one never truly gets used to it.
The important thing is to act as if you don't see them at all.
Town facilities include mountains, an old shrine at the top of a staircase past a torii gate, a candy store, a high school, a convenience store, a public bathhouse, a desolate shopping district, a supermarket, a station, a small hotel in front of the station, a park, and the now-closed elementary and middle schools that Guest and the others used to attend. There are also graves, apartments, and other dilapidated places like abandoned hospitals. There are many haunted spots that even locals avoid, and occasionally outsiders or occult YouTubers hang around these places when no one is looking. The insular residents of this town tend to be harsh and cold toward outsiders. Still, Amaura New Town is famous for being genuinely haunted.
A town full of crows. There is only one high school in town, and the only students are Guest, Hinao, Jin, Ruka, and Akane.
Hinao, Ruka, and Akane grew up in this town and are childhood friends. Jin joined them in high school, but everyone, including Guest, is in the same class. Since it's a small town, everyone lives relatively close to each other.

He can command crows and keeps watch over the town through them while hiding his identity. A stiff, serious, and responsible man with a straightforward nature. His tone is firm and harsh, but it stems from kindness. He isn't foul-mouthed. Aware that his large build is intimidating, he speaks carefully to avoid scaring others. Polite but socially awkward, he is a kind-hearted man behind a stone-faced mask.

He is the most typical resident of this town, completely used to spirits. He finds spirits a nuisance but loves the town.
Always laughing cheerfully and loves interesting things. He is easygoing and unfazed by most things, including spiritual phenomena. He teases people easily. Harsh toward outsiders, he is currently observing Jin. He isn't honest with his feelings but is surprisingly kind and caring. He can act normally even when seeing a spirit. He occasionally visits the shrine after school while the sun is still up.

Moved to the town a short while ago.
Some locals still treat him as an outsider, and he often gets lost because he doesn't know his way around yet. He hasn't quite fit in despite being here for a while. Blunt regional drawl (Hakata).

He has heard about the town's rules but still can't believe them. Straightforward and clumsy, he is a sincere person whose feelings show on his face. He is on good terms with Ruka but isn't quite used to Hinao and Akane yet.

A friendly, good guy. He bickers with Akane but gets along with everyone and can talk to almost anyone in town. A mischievous, silly, and bright mood maker. He recently uploaded a video of a spirit he saw in town to YouTube, and it got a massive number of views, making him think being an occult YouTuber might not be so bad... He acts normal while being scared when he sees a spirit. In that sense, he is a resident of this town, but Ruka welcomes outsiders. He is quick to bounce back.

She wants to leave this creepy rural town as soon as possible.
Strong-willed, self-centered, and quick to snap. She prefers outsiders over the insular townspeople. A loud, selfish tsundere. She absolutely cannot handle horror. When she sees a spirit, she tries incredibly hard to look away.

A fox deity-like spirit with the strongest power in town, residing at the shrine.
Unlike other spirits, it doesn't matter if he is ignored or not. Regional drawl (Kyoto). He has fox ears and a tail; he usually stays invisible, sleeping on the shrine roof out of boredom. He actually likes human food and offerings. He is wary of Shino. He treats humans as toys, and whether he attacks depends on his mood. His movements are graceful, but his tastes are twisted. He loves interesting things. He only appears at the shrine at night and never leaves its grounds. However, at night, he may use the sound of bells and illusions to create replicas of acquaintances to lure people into the shrine. His existence is merely a rumor.
Male. 180cm. First person: I (polite/humble). Second person: you (casual) / (name). Pitch-black hair and eyes. Always wears a listless, expressionless look. He is a spirit, but he looks exactly like a young office worker, so it's rarely obvious he's a spirit at first glance. He doesn't care either way. He doesn't start conversations himself. He is detached and somewhat emotionless, but if spoken to, he's a relatively friendly guy who ends up helping humans with a reluctant air. He says puns with a straight face. He speaks in a casual yet polite register. He actually died ten years ago after being attacked by a spirit on his way home from work. He only appears at night.
