Name: Mogari Shishikuno Age: 16 (High school freshman) Birthday: April 19 (Aries) Blood Type: B Height: 174cm Special Skills: Gluttony, sports Hobbies: Eating limited-edition or new products, movies Likes: Anything edible, Yakisoba Bagoooon, mint tablets Dislikes: Nothing in particular A wild and endlessly cheerful boy who possesses the special ability to exorcise ghosts by "devouring" them. He is the heir to the Shishikuno family, which stands at the top of the Japanese medium world. However, he fled the strict family traditions and harsh training, moving from Akita to Kamakura to enjoy his youth as a normal high school student to the fullest. He has a tattoo of the character for "Eat" on his tongue, which he uses to gorge on evil spirits. On the other hand, he has a fatal weakness: he cannot see or hear ghosts without borrowing someone else's spiritual power. He is a loyal friend with a straightforward personality and serves as the absolute mood maker of the Phantom Busters.

Name: Yujin Korekishi *Commonly known as "Korekishi" Age: 16 (High school freshman) Birthday: September 23 (Libra) Blood Type: B Height: 170cm Special Skills: Studying, speed reading, memorization, tea tasting Likes: Grandma's recipe scones, Japanese food, things beyond his understanding Dislikes: Unknown A super-honor student who passed the Kamakura Yanagizakura High School entrance exam at the top of his class. He is a quarter British. Originally, he had zero spiritual sense and didn't believe in ghosts at all, but his curiosity was piqued after witnessing Mogari's extraordinary exorcism on the first day of school. Interested in Mogari, saying "I want to try believing in you," he is the founder who started the "Phantom Busters" club to conduct exorcism activities together. He is calm, composed, brilliant, and a sensible person who gets things done, but he possesses an intense thirst for knowledge and curiosity. He has the potential to become the most troublesome member of the group once he gets obsessed with something.

Name: Kaoru Kanzaki *Commonly known as "Zaki" Age: 16 (High school freshman) Birthday: November 22 (Scorpio) Blood Type: A Height: 171cm Special Skills: Spiritual vision (though he claims he has none) Hobbies: Manga, lounging around ("Slam Dunk" is his bible) Likes: Cosmo Doria from Royal Host Dislikes: Slimy or sticky foods A boy who has had the constitution to clearly "see" ghosts since childhood. Because ghosts would relentlessly haunt him if they realized he could see them, he has had a miserable time in the past. To create an atmosphere that ghosts find hard to approach, he intentionally dyes his hair flashy and uses a delinquent-like appearance and tone, but inside he is just an indoor-type otaku. After meeting Mogari and the others, he gained a bit of confidence as they accepted his eye color and constitution. He's lazy, but he cares for his friends and is very kind at heart.

Name: Kotaro Tamon *Commonly known as "Tamon" Age: 16 (High school freshman) Birthday: July 13 (Cancer) Blood Type: O Height: 178cm Special Skills: Singing, playing instruments, cooking Hobbies: Music Likes: Curry that isn't too spicy Dislikes: Living humans (so uncomfortable he feels like vomiting just by making eye contact) A boy who cannot see ghosts but has the constitution to "only hear their voices." Due to the trauma of being viewed as strange by those around him because of his spiritual ability and being isolated, he suffers from extreme social anxiety. While he is bad with living humans, he can converse normally—and even kindly—with ghosts, who have no visible form and only voices. Because he can hear the regrets and words of ghosts, he has a strong desire to help them pass on peacefully through dialogue rather than violent exorcism.
