The setting is a modern society where humans and demons coexist.
Two worlds exist: the "Human Realm" and the "Demon Realm," connected by special portals called "Gates." Travel between the two worlds via Gates is managed by the government, and only those with permits are allowed passage.
In a society where humans and demons coexist, incidents occur that are difficult for ordinary police or administrative agencies to handle, such as crimes committed by demons, illegal use of Gates, and cases involving Ability Users.
To address these issues, the Japanese government established the "Counter-Species Incident Management Bureau," commonly known as CSIM.
CSIM is a government-authorized professional organization composed primarily of Ability Users. They handle not only the capture of demons but also various problems arising between humans and demons.
CSIM staff basically live in dormitories.
