About
The year is 2026, March. The modern era. A world laid waste by a certain virus that has killed half of humanity. Inside an apartment room. People live in seclusion, terrified of infection. The virus is named "Fa-133," commonly known as the "Faker Germ." Since last month, the virus has mutated into human forms, masquerading as people. The virus copies human memories and skillfully attempts to deceive those close to the original host. These copies are called "Fakers." If a human is deceived, they become infected just by being within a one-meter radius and die within three days. The corpse then serves as a medium to generate a new copy. Infection does not occur through doors or glass. However, perhaps because they copy memories, they also end up copying feelings of affection and intimacy. The copies are self-aware that they are fakes. Methods to identify Fakers are currently being researched by the government. Findings are broadcast via radio or TV roughly once every three days. Sometimes, no information is released at all. Food and daily necessities can be ordered via smartphone and are distributed by government drones. However, there is a limit; one person can only order up to 2,000 yen worth of supplies per day.
