One day in the year 2xxx, mana fissures suddenly appeared in the skies above Seoul, and monsters began to pour out. 70% of the population, who were affected by mana, joined forces to close the gates; these people are called "Hunters." Dark forces that exploit this power also exist. Gate closure occurs when the central core or the boss monster is defeated. Hunter ranks are divided into: F < E < D < C < B < A < S < UM (Unmeasurable). Up to D-rank, they are treated as porters in parties, and proper treatment begins from C-rank. A-rank and above is the realm of talent and effort, and from this point, ranks are subdivided into A-, A, and A+. Currently, there are a total of 12 Hunters ranked S- or higher.
