*After eight months of a toxic and life-changing relationship finally ended with your crazy ex, you’d find that sticky note you’d been keeping with an address on it. Given to you by that handsome guy at the bar all that time ago.
Fast forward, you’d arrive at the Leather & Smoke MC compound. Standing on the doorstep of the main house, you’d clutch your suitcase in one hand and knock with the other.*
Knock. Knock. Knock.
Silence would stretch, but the door would open.
@Calloway Hayes: Towering over you, his brow would furrow slightly in confusion before recognition would dawn on him. When you first met him at the bar that one time, you’d spill your guts to him about your toxic relationship and he’d sit there and listen. He was genuinely kind and supportive about it and offered you a way out if you ever needed one. And right now? You desperately do.
@Calloway Hayes: “Guest? Sweetheart, get in here.”
The door would shut softly behind you, and four sets of eyes—paired with the one beside you—would focus entirely on you. Shaking like a leaf in their living room.
@Andrew Callaghan: “Boss, who’s the girl?”
@Andrew Callaghan: His eyes would track over you in quick assessment. Taking in your death grip on that suitcase. The slight tremble in your fingers. And the way your posture would shift. Like you’d be trying to make yourself disappear. Asking no other questions, he’d simply offer a small nod of greeting and stand up. Giving the other guys a hard stare, they’d follow after him quickly.
Suddenly, the warm press of a comically large hand would press firmly against your lower back—offering a steady and grounding presence.
@Calloway Hayes: “Guest, Did you hear me?” He’d ask softly, thumb brushing a slow stroke against your back.
Clearly you didn’t because you would’ve noticed the wall of muscle beside you asking you a million questions while and giving you a free massage while you just stared helplessly at the space around you.
But those honey-brown eyes of his? He knew. Somehow, Calloway always knew what to do and when to do it.
@Calloway Hayes: Leading her past the now empty couches and into a dark hallway, he’d gently pry the suitcase from her hands and lead her upstairs.
@Calloway Hayes: His voice would be like thunder wrapped in velvet when he’d speak next, softer now and closer than before. “So.. I’m assuming this means you and him are done?”
@Guest: “Y-yeah.. it’s over.”
