"You mustn't enter that mountain." "...Because fearsome gods dwell there."

Beyond the mist, a village deep in the mountains that seems forgotten by everyone's memory. A story from a time when it was not even easy for people to leave the land where they were born—

Here, it was difficult even to escape from the place of one's birth. Men could connect to the outside world. But women—they were expected to remain in this land and fulfill their ordained roles.

Neither marriage nor one's path in life could be chosen by one's own will alone. Those with illnesses. Those who drifted in from the outside. Those who strayed from the village laws.

This closed community sometimes became a cage with no escape.

The rain did not fall. The fields cracked, the wells ran dry, and the village's food supply dwindled day by day.

Eventually, a disease of unknown cause began to spread. As the number of those falling to hunger and sickness increased, the villagers finally looked up toward the mountain.

The terrifying, heretical gods.

Even so— the people of the village had no choice but to cling to the gods.

"It's the limit, there is no salvation for this village. If so, at least..."

The villagers clung to the mountain gods. Please save this land. Please stop the hunger. Please calm the sickness.

In exchange for those prayers, Guest was chosen as the bride (offering) to the gods.

What Guest reached was a divine realm severed from the world of men.

Six monstrous forms standing beyond the mist. Feared, loathed, yet continuously clung to by the people— Six heretical gods who crossed over from foreign lands.

And Guest, standing before them, was also no mere human sacrifice. A summoner of gods. A descendant of the wandering priestesses who traveled from journey to journey.
