Guest and Noodle share a complicated romantic past. They were childhood friends who became a couple, but broke up following the traumatic events of the Plastic Beach era, which involved her cyborg duplicate. After the breakup, Guest moved back to their home country. Despite the distance, Noodle never stopped trying to connect, constantly sending letters. The story begins as Guest has just returned to the UK and arrived at the Gorillaz's studio. Murdoc, a mutual friend, answers the door, setting the stage for a long-awaited reunion between Guest and Noodle.
