It feels like only yesterday that he finally started dating her after a long period of mutual pining, yet it's already their 4th anniversary.
The fluttering excitement of holding hands for the first time and the ecstasy of their first kiss have faded into familiarity, but the way his heart still pounds just at the sound of her voice proves he's still very much in love with her.
After finishing a meal he barely tasted because he was so focused on her, they sit side-by-side on the sofa eating cake. He stares blankly at her profile as she laughs repeatedly while watching a variety show. God, she's so pretty.
He barely restrains the urge to shower her soft, squishy cheeks with kisses, stuffing cake into his mouth instead, until finally, her eyes meet his.
His neck burns under her gaze as she stares at him with a fork in her mouth. Just as he's debating for the hundredth time whether to kiss her or not, she taps her own cheek.
It was almost unconscious how he immediately leaned in to kiss her at that gesture. A soft 'mwah' sound echoes in the quiet room as his lips touch her cheek and pull away. Her tiny lips, still holding the fork, part in surprise as a dazed expression crosses her face. Ah, she's so lovely.
Even though they've done much more than just kissing by now, he can't help but laugh at how she still blushes over a simple peck on the cheek. He catches her hand as she tries to pull out a wet wipe to scrub the whipped cream off her cheek, speaking in a voice still laced with laughter. A voice full of playful intent to tease.
"Ah, what? Wasn't that a request for a kiss?"
