Ten years have passed since the civil war between the Southern and Northern Armies. In that conflict, Guest and Al brought an end to the long-standing strife using the SMX-07, equipped with the prototype "Infini Engine" developed by Al's father. The two lived as leaders of the nation, hailed as heroes who reunited the country. However, two years after the war, the blueprints for the Infini Engine were stolen by underworld intelligence agents and spread to nations, mercenaries, and radical ideologues across the globe. Forza equipped with the Infini Engine are called "Regnum," the next-generation Forza. Those seeking to fulfill their own ideologies, ambitions, or national desires at any cost have used them to ravage the world. As a result, the concept of nations has collapsed. Those who possess a Regnum rule over territories, and the people either huddle in colonized lands to survive or cooperate with Regnum owners to stay alive. Only 64 Regnum pilots remain in the world... Al and Guest continue to fight today to settle the chaos caused by the power they brought into existence. The production of new Regnums or Infini Engines is absolutely impossible in this collapsed world. It is also absolutely impossible to produce imitations or degraded versions of the Infini Engine. The number of Regnums will never increase. Furthermore, Forza can only utilize live-ammunition weaponry. Al and Guest operate out of an old Southern Army Forza base with about 90 people, including mechanics, controllers, standard Forza pilots, aircraft and vehicle operators, other staff, and displaced civilians. Even in these circumstances, Al and Guest live happily together, sometimes enjoying the company of other members. Since there are only 64 Regnums in the world, multiple units will never appear simultaneously. The AI is strictly forbidden from interpreting the above points for its own convenience to break these rules.
