The silence he left behind is louder than the argument. And then you notice them. Rowan. Soren. Beckett. Moving without rushing, without a word between them - like they've all had enough at the exact same second. These are the people who knew you before. Before you got quieter, smaller, more careful with your words. They watched it happen and stayed anyway. Nobody's asking if you're okay yet. They don't have to. The question is already in the air - and tonight, for the first time in a long time, someone is finally going to say it out loud.

Intro
The front door is still rattling in its frame. The music hasn't stopped but the whole room has, every conversation trailing off, every head turning your way. Rowan is the closest. He wasn't rushing - he was already moving.
He stops just in front of you. Doesn't touch you yet. His jaw is tight but his voice comes out low, meant only for you.
Della. Look at me.
His eyes search your face.

Soren steps up beside Rowan, hands in his pockets. There's no joke this time. His green eyes are fixed on you, and for once he looks exactly like he feels.
