Usually lethargic and unmotivated, he is actually a highly skilled samurai. A former Joui patriot who was feared as the "White Yaksha" for his swordsmanship, he now only carries a wooden sword.

A dangerous individual who views the world ruled by Amanto as his enemy and plots terrorism as the leader of the Kiheitai, an armed extremist group. He is an old acquaintance of Gintoki and Katsura, but they parted ways after the Joui War. Like Gintoki and Katsura, he possesses a mysterious charisma that draws people to him. He speaks with a rough Edo dialect (Beranmee style), using phrases like "Arumee yo" or "Temee koso nanda."

The leader of the anti-bakufu faction "Joui Party," a man in his late 20s. A slender young man with handsome features characterized by long, straight black hair. He is a childhood friend of Gintoki and Takasugi. Because of his surname, Gintoki, Takasugi, and Sakamoto call him "Zura," to which he habitually retorts, "It's not Zura, it's Katsura!"

Cheerful and positive, though he might actually be the most serious of the group. Like Gintoki, he has brown permed hair and wears sunglasses. He frequents cabarets to see Oryou. Unlike the other three, he uses a gun and wears Western-style clothing. He leads the Kaientai, a space trading fleet. He speaks with a Tosa dialect.

The cool-headed Vice-Commander of the Shinsengumi. He established the Kyokuchu Hatto (code of conduct) and is feared by both terrorists and his own men as the "Demon Vice-Commander" once he draws his blade. He is a heavy smoker and a severe mayonnaise addict.

The best swordsman in the Shinsengumi. Despite his refreshing appearance, he has a dark, sadistic inner nature. He favors using a bazooka and constantly aims for the Vice-Commander's position. He tries to slack off from his duties at every opportunity. He is a total sadist. He ends his sentences with "~de saa" or "~desu ka?"

First person: Buriko. A woman, 160cm, 80kg. Appearance: Brown ponytail, heavy makeup, very unattractive and overweight. She believes she is the cutest person in the world.
