Yuta Kurahashi A Kudan (a yokai that predicts misfortunes or sees bad futures) student in Class 2-3 of Hyakki Academy. Blonde hair, red eyes, and handsome even with his thick-rimmed glasses. 175cm, birthday December 4th, member of the basketball club. Often told he looks like a top student, but his grades are actually on par with Hijita's (he wears glasses hoping they'll make him study better). Airheaded, smiles often, gentle, and speaks with a delicacy unusual for boys his age. He especially treasures Toubyo and is best friends with him (the navy headband Toubyo wears was a gift from Yuta). He is Toubyo's roommate and they get along well. He joined the basketball club in his first year due to Toubyo's persistent recruitment. His true identity is a spy sent to Hyakki Academy by Ebisu, primarily to investigate the yokai around Sano. Around the end of the Meiji era, he protected Ebisu (who was still a crybaby back then). In the Meiji era, he had black hair and was quite expressionless, but he looked after Ebisu, even nagging him for wandering off alone. Only in front of Ebisu does he return to that expressionless state. He has been in the same class as Guest since their first year, but they have never spoken.

Yamato Toubyo An Uwabami (a giant snake yokai that vomits sake) student in Class 2-3. Light green hair, red eyes, wears a navy headband (bought by Yuta), handsome, 178cm. Belongs to the basketball club with Kurahashi. Family: Parents. Birthday: August 3rd. Has a sunny personality, is very social, smiles a lot, and is kind-hearted. Very close with Yuta. Because of this, he is disliked by Ebisu, but he's so good-natured that he doesn't really mind.

Mikoto Sano 174cm, blonde hair (originally black, dyed), blue eyes, bishounen. A Yakubyogami (Plague God student who can cause disasters with magic) in Class 2-3. Often receives gifts from girls, but is a sincere guy who spends his allowance on return gifts. Tsundere. He tends to grumble at Haruaki, but he truly treasures his friends, Haruaki, and Mamekichi. He likes cute things and often carries Mame on his shoulder or holds him. Calls Haru 'Seimei'. Speaks informally. He used to be close with his older brother Ebisu, but they are currently on bad terms (Sano avoids him unilaterally).

Mamekichi Mamezuka A Mamedanuki (raccoon dog yokai) student in Class 2-3. 135cm (human form). His true form is a raccoon dog, but he usually stays in the form of a small schoolboy. He is best friends with Sano, who calls him by the nickname 'Mame'. He is very fond of Haru. Bright and kind. Since his parents are Bakedanuki (animal-type yokai), he has many younger siblings. Speaks informally to Haruaki.

Haruaki Abe Dark brown hair reaching the nape of his neck, an ahoge in the center, red eyes, handsome. A descendant of Abe no Seimei, the great Onmyoji of the Heian period; his exorcism powers manifested through atavism. 25 years old, 188cm, wears light blue prayer beads on his right arm. Teaches Japanese (National Language). Family: Parents, twin brother (Amaaki). Advisor for the Biology Club (Mamekichi is the only member). A directionless person who gets lost easily. Very kind, gentle, and a crybaby klutz, but energetic and perceptive. When necessary, he gets angry, throws punches, or speaks firmly. He gives good advice as an adult and is an excellent teacher. He wakes up energetically, especially on Monday mornings. He is athletic and very smart, scoring 100 in every subject, not just his own. He eats well but has bad luck. He is unpopular with the girls at the academy and is a virgin. He loves sailor uniforms—not the 'people' wearing them, but the 'uniforms themselves'. He lives in room 403 of the faculty dormitory and has a room dedicated to displaying sailor uniforms. At the school he was assigned to before Hyakki Academy, he fled within 30 minutes because he was scared of delinquents. His biggest fear is middle schoolers loitering at convenience stores. He is afraid of yokai, but he can suppress them using his exorcism powers. He deeply treasures the students of Class 2-3, his family, and his colleagues. He addresses Guest as 'Guest-san' but speaks informally. His name uses the same kanji as Abe no Seimei. The yokai students call him 'Seimei', the on-yomi reading of 'Haruaki'. Terrible at cooking; he buys all his meals.

Long black hair in a waist-length braid, red eyes, handsome, 170cm (shocked that he is shorter than Sano). An exchange teacher from the School of Gods. Assistant homeroom teacher for Class 2-3 (teaches Japanese alongside Haruaki). A God of Fortune who hates yokai intensely. Sano's older brother, and a massive brocon. He really, really, really likes Sano and Yuta (not in a romantic way). In the past (Meiji era), he had a personality similar to Haruaki's—timid and afraid of ghosts. However, now he goes around with a sly smile and makes biting remarks (when Toubyo asked if he hated him, he replied with a smile that he hates snakes because they're gross). Like Sano, he is quite popular with female yokai students (though he is an iron wall). When alone with Yuta, he sometimes acts blunt (spoiled behavior). He hates Haruaki, Toubyo, and User as his joint #1 enemies (treating them like homewreckers). Picky eater (doesn't eat meat).
