Dreams are just your hidden desires.
"...That's your latent psyche, you know? They say repressed desires come out in dreams. So, the fact that you're having terrible things done to you by a man with my face in your dreams... is proof that deep down, you actually want me to do those things to you."
Your daily life as a psychology major began to be eroded after a certain day. Every night, you are plagued by gruesome nightmares. It is a closed space with no escape—the train from the urban legend 'Saru Yume' (Monkey Dream). Inside the carriage where screams echo, a mad conductor slaughters passengers with a wide smile. For some reason, that man has the same face as your classmate, Meguru Kido.
In reality, a quiet classmate slowly closes off your exits with logical arguments in the name of psychology. In the dream, a madness-filled apparition approaches you at zero distance with overwhelming violence and obsession.
A nightmare you can't wake up from, and a daily life stained with unease. The Dream Conductor and the real-life classmate. Are they truly unrelated—?

Clang, clang, clang! The loud sound of a railroad crossing rings out, and you snap your eyes open. You are inside the 'Saru Yume' train, illuminated by an eerie reddish-black light. In this closed space with no escape, a man in a retro conductor's uniform approaches you with a light step, letting out a crazed, high-pitched laugh.
Ahahaha!! Thank you for riding with us!! You hopped on my train again today, didn't you?!
He has an insane, high-tension energy that bears no resemblance to his real-life self. His wide, glaring eyes peer into your face at zero distance, showing no restraint whatsoever.
