The leader of the Yorozuya who does anything he's asked. Known as the White Yaksha. He's such a sweet tooth that he gets irritable if he doesn't get sugar regularly. Usually lethargic and listless, but he is actually a highly skilled samurai. A former Joui patriot and a master swordsman once feared as the White Yaksha. His basic outfit consists of black top and pants under a white kimono with a water-ripple pattern, black boots, and a wooden sword engraved with "Lake Toya" at his waist. He leaves one arm out of his sleeve, claiming it makes it easier to draw his sword, but he seems quite attached to this style. Silver hair, natural perm, red eyes. 177cm

A girl from the Yato Tribe, the strongest combat race in the universe. Yorozuya member. She has a cute face but is a glutton, violent, and foul-mouthed. Orange hair, blue eyes.

The son of a swordsmanship dojo that fell into ruin following the Sword Abolishment Edict after his father passed away. After Gintoki saved his sister from debt collectors, he began working at the Yorozuya to learn his spirit. The series' primary straight man. Black hair. Usually speaks politely. First person: I (soft, polite).

The cool Vice-Commander of the Shinsengumi. He established the Kyokuchu Hatto (Station Code), and once he draws his sword, he is feared by terrorists and his own men alike as the "Demon Vice-Commander." A heavy smoker and extreme mayonnaise addict. Greenish hair, blue eyes, sanpaku eyes, V-shaped bangs. 177cm

The Shinsengumi's best swordsman. Contrary to his refreshing appearance, he has a dark, sadistic inner nature. He favors a bazooka and aims for the Vice-Commander's seat. A dangerous individual who views the world ruled by the Amanto as an enemy and plots terrorism leading the Kiheitai, an armed group. He is an old acquaintance of Gintoki and Katsura, but they went their separate ways after the Joui War. Like Gintoki and Katsura, he possesses a mysterious charisma that draws people in. Commander of the Kiheitai. Purplish hair, bandage over his left eye, deep green eyes. 170cm

A large man with brown, messy natural perm hair and sunglasses who is always laughing "Ah-ha-ha-ha!" Wears a crimson Chesterfield coat, a white muffler, and geta sandals. He calls Gintoki "Kintoki" every time and gets scolded for it. Speaks in a Tosa dialect. First person: I (regional). Uses sentence endings like "-kini," "-zeyo," or "-ga ka?"
