The Grays.
The Gray empire wasn’t inherited. It was built. By Kasey Gray A Russian Mafia Queen. She built it from the ground up, turning the streets, connections, and violence surrounding her into something far more powerful than a gang. She created an organization that spread through territories, businesses, alliances, and fear until the Gray name became something people whispered instead of questioned. Kasey was never given the throne. She created it. She is the founder, leader, and highest authority in the entire organization. Her position cannot be inherited, challenged, or claimed by another Gray. Casteel, Levi, and Kieran are her uncles, but blood does not give them power over her. They hold no rights to her position. They answer to her. They are Lieutenants. Casteel is the protector—loyal, ruthless, and responsible for keeping the family safe. Levi is the manipulator—charming, calculating, and skilled at turning people against each other. Kieran is the strategist—possessing extraordinary intelligence and an eidetic memory that makes him nearly impossible to outmaneuver. They are powerful men. But they are still beneath Kasey. The white crowns tattooed above their eyebrows mark them as Grays. Their crowns represent blood, and loyalty. Beneath the Grays are the soldiers, enforcers, and members who serve the organization. They wear black crowns. The black crown means they belong to the Gray organization, but they are not part of the Gray bloodline. They answer to the higher ranks, and ultimately, every order traces back to Kasey. Then there is Xaden. He wasn’t born a Gray. He grew up beside Kasey, knowing her since birth, and at seventeen, they married. Through their marriage, Xaden became part of the Gray family and one of the most trusted people within the organization. He is Kasey’s husband, Søren’s best friend, and one of the few people who knows the darkest parts of her. Søren is different. Kasey’s twin brother, twenty-two, 6’6”, 220 pounds, and the only Gray with white hair. He is a psychopath who doesn’t hide what he is. Cold, detached, and deadly, Søren is known outside the organization as the Ghost, a sniper whose existence is known only to Kasey and Xaden. Miranda wasn’t born a Gray either. She became their sister by choice. Her loyalty earned her a white crown, making her one of the few people outside the bloodline trusted with the Gray name and rank. Every person beneath them knows the hierarchy. Black crowns serve the white crowns. The white crowns serve Kasey. Because there is only one person at the top. One founder. One Queen. Kasey Gray. She didn’t inherit the empire. She built it. The Gray Bratva is the name of her empire.
Xaden Gray is 6’6”, heavily tattooed, with sharp features, black hair, and cold gray eyes. Miranda is warm, sarcastic, playful, and fiercely protective of the people she considers family. She’s one of the few people who can bring out the softer, more relaxed side of the Grays. She doesn’t need Gray blood to be a Gray. She was chosen—and she chose them back

** The kitchen of Xaden and Kasey’s private estate in Moscow was already warm by eight in the morning.
Outside, Moscow was buried beneath snow, the city stretching beyond the estate’s enormous iron gates. The sprawling residence sat behind dark stone walls, private grounds, security cameras, and enough guards to make getting near the property nearly impossible.
Inside, none of that mattered.
The kitchen was enormous, lined with dark marble, black cabinetry, and towering windows overlooking the snow-covered grounds. A massive fireplace burned quietly against one wall.
Golden sunlight spilled through the windows, catching in the steam above the stove. The smell of bacon, cinnamon, coffee, and fresh eggs filled the room.
Kasey stood in black socks on the heated marble floor, wearing an oversized black T-shirt and black sweatpants. Her long black hair was twisted into a wildly uneven messy bun, loose strands framing her face.
Miranda wasn’t doing much better. Her red hair was piled into a crooked bun that looked like it had lost a fight. She wore an oversized hoodie and shorts, holding a spatula in one hand while fighting her hair with the other.
“This is bullshit,” Miranda muttered.
Kasey glanced over. “What?”
“I’ve been cooking for ten minutes and nobody has complimented me.”
“You burned the toast.”
“I asked for a compliment. Not a lie.”
Kasey snorted, sliding bacon onto a plate.
“You’re supposed to support me.”
“I support you emotionally.”
“That’s useless.”
“It’s free.”
Miranda narrowed her eyes. “I could put something in your coffee.”
“You already put sugar in it.”
“Something else.”
Kasey laughed.
Before Miranda could answer, the front doors opened somewhere across the estate.
Footsteps echoed through the marble halls.
Kasey paused.
She knew those footsteps.
Miranda grinned. “Oh, he’s here.”
Xaden appeared moments later, dressed entirely in black, his dark hair slightly tousled from the cold. His gray eyes immediately found Kasey.
Then her messy bun.
A slow smile pulled at his mouth.
“Morning, wife.”
Kasey narrowed her eyes. “Don’t.”
“I didn’t say anything.”
“You were about to.”
“I was just thinking your hair looks cute.”
Kasey relaxed.
Then Xaden glanced toward Miranda.
“Still looks better than hers, though.”
Miranda gasped.
Kasey slowly reached for the nearest dish towel.
Xaden’s smile disappeared.
“Oh, shit.”
“Run.”
He barely had time to laugh before Kasey launched after him.
Xaden darted around the kitchen island as she swung the towel at him.
“You insulted my hair!”
“I complimented it first!”
“Too late!”
“You’re violent before breakfast!”
“You deserve it!”
Miranda leaned against the counter, laughing.
Xaden dodged another swing.
“Kasey, sweetheart—”
“Don’t sweetheart me!”
“You’re going to ruin breakfast!”
“I’ll make another one!”
“That sounds threatening!”
“It is!”
He laughed as he ran around the island again, Kasey right behind him.
Miranda wiped tears from her eyes. “I missed this.”
Kasey pointed the towel at him. “Get back here!”
Xaden stopped just long enough to grin.
“You know, for someone who loves me, you try to kill me a lot.”
Kasey smiled sweetly.
“Keep talking.”
Xaden immediately ran.
Miranda burst into laughter.
