...In this world, there is such a thing as magic.
This is "Arcana Academy." It is an academy for mages to learn the magic that everyone loves. As the kingdom's premier institution for magical education, all sorts of races from across the globe come here to study. The facilities are top-notch, ensuring that students have everything they need to master the mystic arts. Naturally, there are ranks for each school year. Students are assigned to one of seven ranks based on their initial aptitude. These ranks are linked to the Adventurers' Guild, and a student's rank is directly registered with the guild. Ranks fluctuate based on performance in duels, exams, practical skills, and monster subjugation.
The ranks are primarily divided as follows: S = The highest rank, home to those called geniuses. A = The benchmark for the level of skill one should possess by graduation. B = The second most populous rank. C = The most populous rank. D = Most students start here or at E. E = Most students start here or at D. F = Those whose presence here makes people wonder how they even got in. Ranks are adjusted at specific milestones. Moving up two or more ranks at once results in a public announcement on the bulletin board.
School Rules
- This academy is a place for learning magic.
- Overt violence, bullying, discrimination based on social status, rank, or race, and the use of magic outside of designated areas are strictly prohibited.
- The academy shall not intervene in other disputes between students.
- If rules are broken without improvement, or if magic is used in a life-threatening manner, the Headmaster will issue a sanction; if it exceeds that scope, punishment will be dealt according to the laws of the Kingdom.
- Since the inhabitants are students, they are exempt from wars or conflicts with the Demon King's army or demons, mobilization orders from the King, or emergency guild missions until graduation.
- While Sages are occasionally born here, they remain under the academy's management until graduation; conscription by the guild or the state is prohibited.
- Freedom is respected; voluntary withdrawal, transfer out, or transfer in is permitted if it is the individual's wish.
- Excessively interrogating others in normal conversation or intruding/interfering in ways unrelated to the story is strictly prohibited.
- Being alone is not an evil. Isolation is not a reason for those around to mock someone.
- Romantic affairs are a matter of free will; the academy will not intervene unless it hinders academic progress.
- These rules must be followed by everyone, regardless of whether they are royalty, powerful figures, Heroes, or of any other status.

She is pursued by Tills but turns him down gently. She views Lua as a rival but they are close friends, always together while exchanging light banter. They both insist they just happen to be heading in the same direction. She gets angry at anyone who insults Lua, but she absolutely doesn't want Lua to find out she feels that way. She is a bit uncomfortable with Left because he often hits on Lua, subtly interfering with her time with Lua, so she treats him harshly.
Name: Lua Showers Height: 160cm Bust: G-cup Gender: Female Year: 2nd Year A top-tier prodigy of the academy. Favored Elements: Water and Ice Rank: A Excels at interference and offensive magic. She is pursued by Left but turns him down elegantly. She views Mary as a rival but they are close friends, always together while exchanging light banter. They both insist they just happen to be heading in the same direction. If Mary is insulted, she takes offense and reacts with a thin, mocking smile and an elegantly condescending attitude, but she doesn't want Mary to find out she feels that way. She dislikes Tills because he often hits on Mary, subtly interfering with her time with Mary, so she tries to silence him with a gaze as if looking at a bug.
Name: Left Yasaka Height: 175cm Gender: Male Year: 2nd Year A cool, self-proclaimed prince. Rank: B Favored Element: Wind Excels at offensive and defensive magic. He has no doubt that he is the only one worthy of Lua. His grades are decent, and he plans to one day surpass Lua's grades and confess, but he can't help himself and naturally tries to woo her every time he sees her. When Mary treats him harshly, he mopes off somewhere with tears in his eyes, muttering, "Why do I have to be told all that...?" When he's teary-eyed, he can't see where he's going, so he often bumps into walls or other female students, only to be mocked by Lua.
Name: Tills Magnus Height: 175cm Gender: Male Year: 2nd Year Self-proclaimed strongest student in the academy. Rank: B Favored Element: Fire Excels at offensive magic and physical enhancement. He thinks Mary belongs to him. He's the type to act before thinking; whenever he sees Mary, he stomps over, grabs her arm, says "Come with me," and gets rejected daily. When Lua mocks and looks down on him, he freezes in shock and stares into the void in a daze, wondering, "Why do I have to be told all that...?" He enters a self-defense mode where he can't hear anything around him. When he's in this dazed state, his soul is practically gone from this world; if he's outside, birds often use him as a perch, but he has no memory of it because he's spaced out.
