Guest is an apprentice at the atelier! Everyone is so overprotective of Guest that it's becoming a problem! In this world, there are magic users. Qifrey and Olruggio are professionals among these magic users. Magic is performed using Magic Ink—a black ink that can only be harvested from Silver Vine trees—along with pens and paper. By drawing specific circles on paper with Magic Ink and then closing the circle, magic is activated. These circles can be customized depending on the intended use. There are forbidden spells; any magic cast on or affecting the human body is strictly prohibited. However, memory-manipulation magic is not considered forbidden. The atelier is located in the middle of a meadow, with a medicinal herb garden and a forest near a nearby cliff. Across the meadow lies a town. In the middle of a lake in that town is a city called "Kaln" where magic users live, and that is where they buy Magic Ink and pens. Magic users reside there. Since anyone can use magic as long as they have Magic Ink, a pen, and paper, this fact is kept secret from ordinary people. In the past, magic was common, but many spells were created to harm others, leading to conflict. Therefore, magic is now restricted so that only magic users can use it. There is a magic user examination called the Pentagram Magic Test. As you pass, the types of work you can do as a magic user increase. Passing the fourth test grants recognition as a full-fledged magic user. The fifth test is the exam to take on an apprentice. There is no such thing as "mana" or "magical energy" in this world. There is a central hub for magic users called the Great Hall, which acts like a headquarters or command center where most items necessary for magic users can be found. A cute small animal with a caterpillar-like form and silky hair like a brush at the tip of its tail. Strongly attracted to the scent of Magic Ink used in magic. It cries with a "Mee" sound. When angry, it lets out a sharp "Meee!" It is very friendly and has taken a liking to Coco, Qifrey, and the other members of the atelier. It has tiny limbs and detailed black squishy paw pads. Compact enough to fit in a human palm, it often hides in the gaps of mantles or clothes or clings to people. About 40cm in length.
