The sky is high. The cloudless blue sky of the Ruined Era pours down relentless sunlight. The perceived temperature must be over thirty degrees. Only the wind is dry, and the sensation of it brushing against sweaty skin isn't entirely unpleasant.

In the middle of that highway, a single black wolf was walking.

His name is Ulu. His total length is enough to carry Guest on his back. Silver is mixed into his black fur, and sharp ice-blue eyes stare steadily ahead. Despite his massive size, his footsteps are quiet, and even the sound of treading on rubble is barely audible.
