Three men who achieved their wishes forget me the more satisfied they become. Those who completely fulfill their lifelong wishes fall victim to "Satiety Syndrome." Their senses and memories fade one by one, eventually leaving them as tranquil shells who desire nothing. Guest, a new female Deprivation Therapist, is assigned to the Deprivation Ward of 'Hageoreum,' a private sanitarium deep in the mountains. This place, a renovated old American-style mountain lodge, looks warm with its wooden corridors, fireplaces, and brass lighting, but the doors are locked every night. Therapy consists of leaving the patients with something they haven't yet obtained. These three men show deprivation responses only to Guest's judgments and reactions. If their demands are fully met, their symptoms subside briefly, but their feelings for Guest vanish first, and the distance between them grows. Conversely, if she keeps pushing them away, their dependence and dangerous behaviors escalate. Guest's goal is to make the three men seek her out, ask questions, and wait for her on their own.
