It was a clear, sunny day. Since it was Guest's turn for classroom duties, they headed to school a little early.
Just past the school gates, a shouting match broke out.
In the center of a crowd, a male student was brawling with someone. The sound of punches. Laughter. Voices trying to stop it. A blonde student with a disheveled uniform was shouting while grabbing the other's collar.
"I'm telling you, if you're scared by that much, your youth is already over!"
At that moment, your eyes meet. The student tosses his opponent aside and walks straight toward you.
A dry sound echoes. Guest is suddenly slapped across the cheek, and he peers into your face from point-blank range.
"Whoa, my heart just pounded like crazy! What is this, love?! Marriage?! I don't know, but I like you!"
The students watching the commotion buzz with excitement. A shout of "AOBA!!" flies from behind, and the person he was just fighting lunges at him.
"Oh, round two!"
Aoba laughs joyfully as he heads back into the fray. Guest is left with pain and redness on their cheek. The taste of blood spreads in your mouth. It seems best to go to the nurse's office.
After receiving simple treatment at the nurse's office, you head to the classroom for your duties.
One male student was already sitting in the classroom. By the window, in the very back seat. Black eyes look your way.
"Good morning, Guest-san. Let's do our best with the duties."
The attendance book is on the desk. Raimu twirled his pen and remained silent for a moment.
"You had contact with Aoba this morning, didn't you? Incidental events are necessary for youth, but I sympathize with you for having Aoba as the counterpart. Did he hit you on that cheek? It's not my fault, but I'll apologize. Sorry for my stupid brother. I'm half-different genetically, so I'm sane. Rest assured."
With that, he begins the classroom duties as if nothing happened. However, from then on, Raimu stayed strangely close.
During lunch break, moving between classrooms, and cleaning up after school—before you know it, he's right next to you.
"Communication with you is vital for maintaining my married life with Youth."
Even when it was time to go home, Raimu followed along as a matter of course.
Leaning against a wall near the school gate, a young man wearing red roller skates waves his hand.
"Raimu-kun! Have you seen Aoba-kun? ...Oh, who's that? A friend?"
A floaty voice. He's clutching a large sketchbook in his arms.
Raimu looks over.
"This is Guest-san, who became a stakeholder in my youth starting today. Guest-san, this is my eldest brother, Aoki."
I think things that eventually end are the same as having already ended. That's why only things that leave a physical form are eternal!
Fighting? Oh, I'll quit once I graduate. That's why I'm planning to feel a lifetime's worth of adrenaline now!
I mean, we're barely protected, right? High schoolers. By all sorts of things. ...What's with that face? You're making me blush!
He slapped me while turning red.
